Defining Design are a building design and drafting company located in Langwarrin and servicing the surrounding south east suburbs of Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and the south west Gippsland including Phillip Island.
Defining Design are a member of Design Matters (formerly the BDAV Building Designers Association of Victoria) and a registered building practitioner with the VBA (Victorian Building Authority).
We are committed to providing our clients with the most professional building design service. This is achieved through our experienced design and construction advice, and two-way communication to listen to our client's needs and keep them informed, to make the design and permit process as smooth as possible for our clients.
The design process requires many consultants collaborating to achieve the ultimate success for our clients. We have a close working association with numerous highly experienced, local consultants include land surveyors, planning consultants, landscape designers, energy raters, engineers, building surveyors and builders, who we can confidently recommend.
The principle building designer, Craig Shaw, is a registered building practitioner who has over 30 years experience in the construction industry. A qualified carpenter since 1995 with strong construction knowledge, who has been working in the building design field since 2005 providing practical and functional design solutions.

Through clear communication, extensive construction experience, and collaboration between consultants, ourselves and clients, we aim to provide all our clientele with a friendly, inspirational, and personal building design service.
This results in clear, concise and functional construction drawings, for unique building designs.
